This Meursault 2003 by Alain Corcia comes from a hot vintage marked by high grape ripeness. Grown on the clay-limestone slopes of the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is famed for producing rich, deep white wines with good tension. The warmth of 2003 has resulted in a generous, full-bodied, and expressive wine.
Traditional vinification involves fermentation in oak barrels, with a proportion of new oak to provide structure and complexity. Aging on fine lees for several months enhances the texture and develops aromas of hazelnut, fresh butter, vanilla, and honey while preserving the elegance typical of Burgundian Chardonnay.
The nose is intense, with ripe yellow fruits, dried fruits, and toasty notes. On the palate, it is broad and rounded, with moderate acidity that ensures balance and length. The structure is supple yet present, typical of mature high-quality Meursaults.
Serve between 12 and 14°C. It pairs beautifully with sauced fish dishes, scallops, creamy white meats, or soft cheeses like Brie or Chaource. After more than 20 years of aging, this Meursault displays full complexity with refined tertiary aromas and lasting finish.
