From clay soils to clay-loam mud. Originally alluvial-colluvial, stony with good drainage. Mild Mediterranean climate with high temperature variation between day and night.
Harvest and Vinification:
The climatic conditions during the 2014 season were favorable, with a long, dry harvest period and no rainfall. There were some instances of spring frost. Although Alto Cachapoal was unaffected, there was a slight drop in yield. The wines are exceptionally ripe, with good tannin concentration and a fresh, spicy character.
Harvest: First week of May
Aging: 12 months in French and American oak barrels

Color: Deep red with violet hues
Aroma: Red fruits, fresh blackberries, and spices, with a delicate hint of herbs typical for this varietal
Palate: Fresh and fruity on the palate, with soft, gentle tannins, good concentration, and a long finish framed by subtle touches of vanilla
Serving Temperature: 16–18°C
Pairing: Lean meats, turkey with dried plum sauce, rabbit and mushroom risotto
