100% French whisky from Gascony. The cellar master of Maison Samalens uses exclusively local grains: corn (80%), barley (10%), and rye (10%), ready to be distilled after five days of fermentation.
The double distillation takes place in copper stills, with the lees, for optimal concentration of aromas.
The Tchankat whisky takes its name from the “tchanqués,” the traditional shepherds of the Landes region who used to herd their flocks in marshy areas and therefore walked on stilts. This scene is also depicted on the bottle.
